Forget the meat patty and try the lion’s mane mushroom burger! Meaty, savory, and packed with umami, it turns every bite into a burst of flavour… 100% plant-based, 100% irresistible.
Ingredients
400g lion’s mane mushrooms (Leciel)
6 brioche buns
2 pink tomatoes (Leciel)
1 Red onion, thinly sliced
6 boston Lettuce Leaves
12 pickle plices
2 tbsp olive oil
Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
FOR THE SAUCE
½ cup mayonnaise
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp yellow mustard
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp paprika
1 tbsp pickle juice
A pinch of cayenne pepper
Preparation
In a bowl, mix all the sauce ingredients and set aside.
Slice the mushrooms into approximately ¼-inch thick pieces. Preheat a skillet over high heat. Drizzle olive oil over the mushroom slices, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
Cook the mushrooms for about 3 minutes on each side, using a meat press (or a cast-iron pan) to release excess water. Check them halfway through to prevent burning; they should be nicely browned.
Toast the buns in a skillet for 1 to 2 minutes, until golden. Spread the sauce on each bun, add your choice of condiments, then place the cooked mushrooms on top. Close the sandwich and serve immediately.
